CNN En Espanol Interviews Liliana Rojas-Suarez about the Fed (in Spanish)

CGD senior fellow Liliana Rojas-Suarez discussed central bank policy during the financial crisis in a recent interview with CNN en Español. Rojas-Suarez described the role of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank in the current financial crisis and commented on the proposed Fed’s new supervisory responsibilities. Also, she compared Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s actions during the crisis to the actions of central bankers in Latin America. Rojas-Suarez noted that Latin American central bankers were better prepared to deal with the current financial crisis than they were for previous crises because they had significantly increased the flexibility of their exchange rate systems.
