Critics Assail IMF Plan on Developing Nations' Voting Share (Washington Post)

The Washington Post cites a letter signed by CGD President Nancy Birdsall encouraging the IMF to grant greater voting power to developing countries.

"The International Monetary Fund's board approved a plan to change the IMF's voting structure after 18 months of negotiations intended to give greater authority to developing countries.....
Details of the plan were criticized this week by former officials in a letter to the IMF's 24-member executive board....
The letter was signed by Colin Bradford, Ralph Bryant, Homi Kharas and Johannes Linn of The Brookings Institution; Edwin Truman and John Williamson of the Peterson Institute for International Economics; Nancy Birdsall of the Center for Global Development; and Jo Marie Griesgraber of the New Rules for Global Finance Coalition."
