"'We have compromised our ability to lead the world in a very dangerous time,' said Steven Radelet, a former Treasury official now a senior fellow at the Center for Global Development, a pro-foreign aid group. Without renewed international outreach, 'we will be planting the seeds for more difficulties abroad in the future,' he said."
