Kaysie was the program associate for CGD's Engaging Fragile States initiative, where she studied the connections between weak states, transnational threats, security and development. Before joining the Engaging Fragile States initiative Kaysie also contributed to CGD's MCA Monitor. Previously, she worked as senior program officer at the International Peace Academy in New York, where her research focused on natural resources and conflict, as well as security sector reform and rule of law efforts in UN peace operations. Mrs. Brown has written on topics such as legacies of war economies in post-conflict peacebuilding, business and international crimes, security and development in the South Pacific and the rule of law in peace operations. She received her Masters degree in International Conflict and Forced Migration from Oxford University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations.
