John Simon was a visiting fellow at the Center for Global Development from January 2009 through January 2011 focusing on the emerging impact investment industry. He is co-author of the report More than Money, which explored the possibilities and pitfalls of impact investing and proposed several concrete recommendations to further its emergence as a development tool. Before joining CGD, Simon served as the United States Ambassador to the African Union and the executive vice president of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Since leaving the Center for Global Development, Simon has founded Total Impact Advisors.
