Thomas R. Gibian

Thomas R. Gibian is Chairman of Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) as well as a founding partner. Before becoming Chairman in July 2010, Mr. Gibian served as chief executive officer following ECP’s spinout from EMP Global where he had managed the daily operations for the AIG African Infrastructure Fund (Africa Fund I). Prior to joining EMP, Mr. Gibian was Executive Director and Co-Head of Structured Finance for the Asia-Pacific Region of Goldman Sachs (Asia) Limited from 1992-1995. Mr. Gibian joined Goldman Sachs in 1987 as vice president. Prior to 1987 he was with Solomon Brothers (1983-1987). Mr Gibian currently serves as Head of School at Sandy Spring Friends School in Montgomery County Maryland.

Mr. Gibian has been a director on the boards of Ashanti Goldfields (NYSE:ASL), Interwave (NASDAQ: iwav), Celtel, and Orascom Telecom Algeria as well as a Trustee on the board of the Sidwell Friends School.
