Zambia

The MCC board of directors deemed Zambia compact-eligible for the MCA in FY2009.  Zambia was reselected in FY2010 and FY2011 and continues to develop its compact.

MCA Status

In FY2005, Zambia was selected as threshold-eligible by the MCC board.  Zambia's three-year, $22.7 million threshold program was signed on May 22, 2006 and focused on reducing opportunities for corruption, in targeted government institutions, by removing administrative barriers, improving public service delivery and strengthening border management of trade.  The program concluded on February 28, 2009. An independent impact evaluation was undertaken on Zambia's threshold program to assess its outcomes.  The full report can be viewed here.
