On January 22, 2010 the MCC signed a five-year, $262 million compact with Moldova that focuses on irrigation reconstruction, access to agricultural finance, and the rehabilitation of an integral section of the country's national road network. Moldova was first selected as compact-eligible in the FY2007 selection round. In FY2005, Moldova was deemed eligible for threshold program funding. Moldova signed a $24.7 million threshold program agreement with the MCC on December 15, 2006. The program was designed to reduce corruption in the public sector and concluded on February 28, 2010.
