Inside the Environment Component
The environment component of the CDI compares rich countries on policies that affect shared global resources such as the atmosphere and oceans. The component is built from ten “indicators” of government policy, such as gasoline taxes and fishing subsidies per person. On some, such as greenhouse gas emissions per person, a high value earns a low score. Here, you can pull up performance reports by country or compare countries by indicator.
