Commitment to Development Index for Africa

When it comes to helping Africa, rich countries are most often compared on how much foreign aid they give. But the rich world is connected to the poorest continent in many other ways. For a fuller picture, the Commitment to Development Index (CDI) for Africa applies the methods of the global CDI to the quantity and quality of aid to Africa, trade barriers to African goods, support for peacekeeping in African countries, and more. Each rich country gets scores in seven policy areas, which are averaged for an overall score. To learn more, read the brief or the technical paper.
