The Kyrgyz Republic was approved for a $16 million Threshold Program that is designed to help control corruption and strengthen the rule of law through judicial reform, law enforcement reform, and criminal justice reform. Signed on March 14, 2008, some of the expected results of the program include improving the reliability of police services, decreasing pervasive money laundering through banks, and improving scores for the Control of Corruption indicator.
