Niger

Niger was approved for a $23 million Threshold Program on January 30, 2008 to focus on the Control of Corruption, Business Start-Up, Land Rights and Access and Girls' Primary Education Completion Rate indicators. The program's expected results include reducing the cost of starting a business by 84 percent, the number of days to start a business from 24 to 14, the number of days to register property from 49 to 27 and the disparity between girls' and boys' completion rates. It also aims to increase girls' primary education completion rates to 44 percent as well as girls' enrollment in primary education by 5 percent. Review the Niger program fact sheet.
