It's Official - $1.1 billion for the MCC

Following the House’s approval on December 10^th, the U.S. Senate passed the FY2010 Omnibus Appropriations Bill yesterday, which includes $1.1 billion for the MCC.  This figure represents a 26% increase over the FY2009 budget but still falls below the $1.75 billion appropriated in FY2006 and FY2007 and doesn’t come close to the originally envisioned $5 billion budget for the MCC.  The final budget lands in-between the Senate’s proposed $950 million and the House’s $1.4 billion proposal.  The FY2010 Presidential Request for the MCC was $1.425 billion.
