Gaiv Tata is currently working on furthering the financial and private sector development agenda in developing countries as the Director of Growth Solutions for Development LLC. He also served as a member on the Center for Global Development’s Working Group on the Unintended Consequences of Anti-Money Laundering Policies on Poor Countries.

Tata has three decades of experience in development including a distinguished career at the World Bank where he worked on several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa. He has held various senior positions including simultaneously being the Director for the Financial and Private Sector Development for Sub-Saharan Africa and the World Bank’s Global Practice on Financial Inclusion and Infrastructure. He also served as the Deputy Director for the 2005 World Development Report on improving the investment climate. He was also part of the management team which negotiated two highly successful replenishments for the International Development Association.
