Albert Alwang was a research assistant for Kimberly Ann Elliott and William Savedoff. Prior to joining CGD, Alwang worked as a Visiting Investigator at the Center for Tropical Agriculture where he led a study measuring the economic impact of new rice and forage varieties throughout Central America. He then worked as a Research Assistant at Virginia Tech, conducting poverty analyses based on Zimbabwe’s Poverty, Income, Consumption and Expenditure Surveys. Alwang graduated in 2011 from Virginia Tech with a BA in economics.
