Maria Alejandra Amado was a research assistant for Liliana Rojas-Suarez. Prior to joining CGD she worked as a program coordinator for the Universidad del Pacifico’s research center on macroeconomic and financial topics, where she served as an assistant of various projects related to the analysis of long term economic growth in Peru, and the impact of taxation in mining and oil sectors in Peru, a project sponsored by the IDB. She has also worked as an intern in the Economic Research area of the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance of Peru. Maria Alejandra earned a BA and a Master in Economics at Universidad del Pacifico. Her master’s thesis, on the macroeconomic impact of banking and monetary policy rules, has been presented in seminars at the Central Bank of Peru, and at the Uruguayan Central Bank.
