The Millennium Challenge Corp. (MCC) received $875 million in the new omnibus appropriations bill. That’s $670 million less than the previous year but much more than the $254 million that the Senate had proposed. CGD senior policy analyst Sheila Herrling writes that the appropriation is like a life preserver for the MCC—enough to keep it afloat for a while. She and others will be watching anxiously to see if the Obama administration and Congress pull the MCC to safety in FY10.
