The Latin-America Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee (CLAAF) published their last statement on their last meeting on October 28th at Lima-Peru, which generated a lot of attention from Peruvian media.
The Committee stated that the expected rise of the FED’s interest rate on June 2015 will shock the global economy, particularly emerging markets like Peru. CGD Senior fellow Liliana Rojas-Suarez, Chair of the Committee, stated that Peru is the most prepared country in Latin America to face a systemic shock from Europe and China’s lower growth and higher interest rates from the FED.
