From the newsletter:

A new report finds that the H-1B visa program has delivered benefits to both the U.S. and Indian economies. "While there are some negative impacts for a subset of U.S. workers, the overall gains outweigh the losses as the combined incomes of the U.S. and India both rise under the H-1B program by about $17.3 billion or 0.36 percent," according to the paper, which was written by Gaurav Khanna of the Center for Global Development and Nicolas Morales of the University of Michigan. The study received backing from the Sloan Foundation, the NBER Fellowship on High-Skill Immigration, the Open Philanthropy Project and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
