USAID Outlines Initial Reform Plans (The Lancet)

The Lancet quoted CGD director of policy outreach Sarah Jane Staats and CGD director of the HIV/AIDS Monitor Nandini Oomman on U.S. foreign aid reform.

"“There's certainly a worry that the window of opportunity for big reform is closing and the concern is that we may end up with more tinkering around the edges”, said Sarah Jane Staats, director of policy outreach for the Center for Global Development (CGD) based in Washington, DC. Nandini Oomman, who monitors HIV/AIDS programmes for CGD, described development experts and staff as being in a state of suspension lacking both an updated structure for their work and key government personnel to lead it."
