A recent NPR article sites CGD's new online database of over 50,000 power plants worldwide. The CARMA, or Carbon Monitoring for Action, database was designed by CGD Senior Fellow David Wheeler.
From the article:
"Power plants are the biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. They account for 40 percent of the CO2 pumped into the atmosphere. But up until now, it has been difficult to figure out precisely how much is coming from each plant or company. A new database and Web site make it easy."
