Stanford's Jacobson on the science of clean tech

In media battles between boosters of different clean energy technologies, science is often subordinated to marketing. Research assistant Matt Hoffman looks at recent calculations of lifecycle carbon emissions for different energy technologies, in "Why Marc Jacobson’s Research Matters for the Clean Technology Fund".

EPA proposes GHG emissions reporting

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) may soon require reporting of greenhouse gas emissions for 13,000 emitters accounting for more than 85% of US emissions. My colleagues Lawrence MacDonald and Robin Kraft comment on this development and outline their hopes for global reporting, in "EPA Moving on U.S. Greenhouse Gas Registry: Next Step, Global CARMA".

My thanks to Robin Kraft for his help in preparing this letter.

Best wishes,
