Special Assistant to the PresidentThe Center for Global Development, an independent, non-profit policy research organization in Washington, is seeking a Special Assistant to the President to fulfill a broad array of support functions. The Special Assistant’s role is to provide timely and effective support to the President to maximize CGD impact, elevate CGD’s profile, and expand CGD’s circle of friends and supporters. Online Communications ManagerThe Center for Global Development seeks a creative, focused and flexible Online Communications Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, updating and maintaining CGD’s suite of online communications products including: the Center’s main Web site, four policy blogs, our e-mail newsletters, Ask CGD Live Interviews online and other new media initiatives. The Online Communications Manager works with a small team of communications professionals and reports to the Director of Communications and Policy. Experience with Convio and SalesForce are highly desirable. Skills:
3-5 years of professional experience required. Experience in a Web-based new media organization also a plus. Interest in global development policy and/or experience living or traveling in developing countries a strong plus. Internships at CGDThe Center offers paid and unpaid internships to full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Research assistant internships are offered to candidates with extensive training in econometrics, microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory and development economics. Interns must be familiar with issues related to development economics and policy analysis, and related topics. Prior experience with statistical packages such as STATA and Excel may be required. Internships may also be offered to full-time undergraduate and graduate students to help facilitate the Center's communications work and program initiatives. Prior study and/or work experience in economics, public policy, international relations, national security issues, and global health may be required, along with outstanding communication and writing skills.
