Canada Beats U.S. in Knowledge of Newcomers (Toronto Star)
June 01, 2009
The Toronto Star features CGD's new migration report and quotes CGD research fellow Michael Clemens.
From the article:
"Canada receives a rare A in the Centre for Global Development's (CGD) report card on the degree to which countries probe the back-story of newcomers. Five other countries - including Australia, Malta and Tonga - share Canada's lead.
The U.S. earns a B grade, based on its lack of curiosity in questions posed to new arrivals by census takers, according to the blue-ribbon panel's report, Migrants Count: Five Steps Toward Better International Migration Data."
