"American Electric is the second-largest carbon-dioxide emitter in the U.S., according to the Washington-based Center for Global Development, and the largest U.S. producer of electricity from coal. Continued policy deadlock may lead to power shortages in a decade or two, Morris said today in a speech at the University Club of New York."
