Statements Supporting Policy Recommendations

The Center for Global Development’s Migration as a Tool for Disaster Recovery initiative currently focuses on Haiti as a case study to illustrate how the U.S. government could use migration as one component of post-disaster relief efforts in the developing world. Led by CGD senior fellow Michael Clemens, the initiative has produced a number of recommendations. Two of these recommendations—adding Haiti to the list of countries eligible for temporary low-skilled worker (H-2A and H-2B) visas and establishing a Haitian Family Reunification Parole program—have received broad, bi-partisan support from the letters and resolutions below:
