CGD is pleased to host Todd Moss for a reception celebrating the release of the new edition of his African Development: Making Sense of the Issues and Actors, (Lynne Rienner Publishers). In the book, Moss offers a comprehensive and accessible introduction to the debates and key players. This updated edition reflects recent successes, growing divergence among African economies, and the changing landscape for the development business. Todd Moss is vice president for programs and senior fellow at CGD, where his work focuses on U.S.-Africa relations and policies that affect private investment, debt, and aid. Moss also teaches at Georgetown University and has previously served as U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, and worked at the World Bank and London School of Economics. His previous books include Adventure Capitalism: Globalization and the Political Economy of Stock Markets in Africa. |
