Tim Ohlenburg joined the AI Initiative as a Research Fellow. Tim’s PhD in Computer Science at University College London focused on algorithmic targeting systems in social protection, and he has advised institutions including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and GIZ. Prior to his work on machine learning, Tim was an ODI Fellow in Sierra Leone's Ministry of Finance, a country economist for IGC Uganda, and a Senior Economist at the Centre for Economics and Business Research. He holds degrees in economics and computer science from the University of Edinburgh, the London School of Economics, and University College London.
