BASF (formerly American Home Products) donated more than $2 million worth of insecticide to the global campaign to eradicate guinea worm. The result of the campaign’s efforts has been a 99 percent drop in the prevalence of the disease and a reduction in the number of cases from 3.5 million to less than 35,000.
