Job Opportunity: Database and Constituent Coordinator

The Center for Global Development, an independent, non-partisan research organization in Washington, DC, seeks a dynamic person to support and enhance the Center’s contacts database and be trained as the in-house expert supporting online tools for constituent and contact engagement. Experience working with nonprofits, Salesforce and Convio is highly desired.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing, supporting, enhancing and developing CGD’s contacts database and web based tools which includes cross departmental functions such as fundraising and events;
  • In collaboration with the IT Manager, proactively work to identify new and creative opportunities to use contacts database to support critical institutional functions;
  • Train new staff to use contacts management software, manage user accounts and security model;
  • Manage ongoing relationship with Salesforce.com and the Salesforce.com Foundation;
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency. Performs regular backups of data; and
  • Serve as primary contact for extensive reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Assist with updates of web content for an active and robust website. Fulfills first level support for web technology requests;
  • Train and provide guidance for CGD program staff in the technical aspects of sending program specific newsletters;
  • Assist the IT Manager with writing and populating the operational material and documentation of an Intranet;
  • Provide administrative support around technology initiatives;
  • Serve as liaison for contact and constituent software vendors; and
  • Assist IT Manager with research and technology initiatives such as training staff with various software packages.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and customer service orientation required;
  • Aptitude and interest in harnessing technology to improve communication methods;
  • Proven ability to be a team player, patience, and flexibility
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required and database experience a plus;
  • Knowledge of HTML and WYSIWYG editors;
  • An interest in nonprofit operations particularly communications and marketing;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and
  • Knowledge and commitment to CGD mission, vision, and values.

Salary: Low 30’s
