July 20, 2007

The panel’s objective was to reduce confusion about migration in rich and poor countries. Clemens was joined by Esther Nieves, American Friends Services Committee; and Sandip Roy, New America Media, to answer questions about U.S. immigration and opportunities and responsibilities associated with global migration. Among these topics, the experts responded to questions regarding illegal immigration, applying for visas, immigrants' impact on the U.S. economy, immigrants changing the U.S., immigration then and now, migration as poverty reduction, and refugees in South Africa.
