Debra Fine is the interim chair of the Center for Global Development's Board of Directors.
Debra Fine is the Founder of Fine Capital Partners, a hedge fund established in 2004 in New York City. Fine Capital manages equity capital for university endowments, foundations and family offices. In January 2020, Ms. Fine stepped down as Chief Executive Officer and now serves as Chair.
Before founding Fine Capital, Ms. Fine was Director of Global Equities at Loews Corporation and a senior buy-side analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein. She also served as Chief of Staff to the NYC Sanitation Commissioner and began her career as an investment banker at Salomon Brothers. She graduated from Yale University and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Ms. Fine serves on multiple for-profit and non-profit boards. Her current non-profit board service includes: Vice Chair of Save the Children US, where she has also served as Interim Chair; Simprints, a Europe-based enterprise providing biometric identification for verification of last-mile delivery of aid; Malengo, which provides innovative financial tools and student support to support education migration; and the Guttmacher Institute, a think tank focused on global research and advocacy on sexual and reproductive health.
