Cristina Clerici is a Senior Policy Analyst working with the Global Advisory Panel on Skills (GAPS) at the Center for Global Development. She is an applied economist focusing on generating rigorous evidence to inform policy in low- and middle-income countries. Her work has spanned gender, health, and labor markets, primarily in East Africa. Before joining CGD, she was a Research Scientist at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) in Nairobi, where she designed and managed several research projects. She previously held positions with IPA in Uganda and Tanzania. Cristina holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics, and an M.Sc. in Economic and Social Sciences and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Bocconi University.
