Jessie Ainslie was the policy outreach assistant at the Center for Global Development. She has previously interned with a variety of actors in the development community, including positions in Congress, the UN Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and Amnesty International USA. She left DC to work as an organizer during the 2020 campaign cycle before returning to school to get her master’s degree. She holds a dual BA in International Relations and Government from Claremont McKenna College and a MSc in International Development from the University of Edinburgh. She recently finished her master’s dissertation, which highlighted areas of growth in the development industry’s efforts to lower the global maternal mortality rate. Her other professional interests include migration and international debt-relief. She was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii.
