Elizabeth O’Connell has fifteen years of experience in fundraising, strategic planning, and organizational development in sectors including water, sanitation, and hygiene; women’s political empowerment; environmental protection; and public policy and advocacy. Before coming to CGD, she was a development consultant for international and local organizations in Washington, DC. From 2011 to 2013, Elizabeth worked in Ghana where she served as a business development advisor to SNV Netherlands Development Organization and provided strategic planning and fundraising consulting to Ghanaian civil-society organizations. She has a master’s degree in international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.
