Hassan Sayed is a postdoctoral scholar at the Market Shaping Accelerator (MSA). His research studies applications of economic theory to organizations, innovation, and political economy through the lens of information transmission. He is particularly interested in questions related to how we learn from models and data provided by others; how mechanism design can be used to more efficiently fund innovation; and how our ability to learn about good policies is shaped by incentives for policymakers to experiment. He also explores applications of this theoretical work via historical case studies, text-as-data, and public policy analysis. His work with the Market Shaping Accelerator includes research on when we should use pull mechanisms to fund innovation, as well as policy design for projects related to in-line chlorination and generic drug repurposing. Hassan holds a PhD in Economics from Princeton University and a BA from Northwestern University.
