Tariq brings more than a decade of nonprofit financial management experience, with deep expertise in federal grants, multi-year budgeting, and financial system optimization. Prior to joining CGD, he served as Senior Director of Finance at the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC), where he led financial reporting, grant compliance, and audit coordination, and partnered with program leaders and funders to ensure strong fiscal stewardship. Tariq has also prior work experience with the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and Asian Development Bank (ADB)
Throughout his career, Tariq has focused on strengthening financial governance and building processes that align resources with mission impact. He has extensive experience with financial platforms, including Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify, and Vena Solutions, and has led teams in implementing streamlined systems and policies to support organizational growth.
Tariq holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), and is currently pursuing his CPA designation.
