David Gentili is a research assistant at the Center for Global Development, where he works with Markus Goldstein and Charles Kenny. Before joining CGD, he was part of the United Nations Development Programme’s Poverty and Inequality portfolio in Colombia, where he led and advised on large-scale public interventions aimed at reducing poverty through livelihoods promotion, entrepreneurship, and improved firm productivity. He has also consulted for the World Bank’s Development Research Group, contributing to rigorous impact evaluations of national programs, and held research roles at Gui2de and the International Growth Centre, focusing on studies of tax evasion, tax incidence, and revenue collection strategies. David holds a Master’s in International Development Policy from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, a Master’s in Development Practice from Universidad de Los Andes, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Universidad Central de Venezuela.
