Jennifer Ahn

Jennifer Ahn is a rising junior at Boston University majoring in International Relations and minoring in Korean Language and Literature. Growing up as a first generation immigrant with citizenship in both the United States and South Korea has allowed her to develop a dual cultural identity, creating an open-minded interest in fostering greater cultural awareness. Volunteering and working in a variety of organizations aimed at providing assistance to refugees and immigrants, Ahn hopes to pursue a future career in the advancement of resources and diplomatic aid to underprivileged individuals. Jennifer will be working with Cindy Huang on migration, displacement, and humanitarian policy.

Juan Fernandez de Castro

Juan Fernandez de Castro hails from Miami, FL. A student at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, Fernandez de Castro is pursuing a major in International Politics as well as a Certificate in International Development. He is involved with Georgetown Global Consulting, a student-run non-profit that provides pro bono services to small businesses and NGOs in developing countries. Additionally, he volunteers for D.C. Reads, mentoring children from underserved communities and improving their reading skills. In his free time, Fernandez de Castro enjoys film, Latin music, and fitness. Juan will be working with Jeremy Konyndyk on humanitarian assistance and global outbreak preparedness.

Cameron Gadson

Cameron Gadson hails from NE Washington DC. He currently studies Political Science at Morehouse College—one of the only three all-male liberal arts colleges in the country. This past school year, he served as an intern at Atlanta City Hall under Council President Felicia A. Moore. Gadson is active in various organizations on Morehouse’s campus, including SGA, Residential Life, P.U.S.H. Project, and the Campus Alliance of Student Activities. He plans to continue his education at law school and become a lawyer and lobbyist. Cameron will be working with Erin Collinson on US development policy and outreach.

Mayada Hassan

Mayada Hassan is a passionate researcher with interests in Middle East and African politics, female education, public health, and human rights. Growing up with parents who immigrated from Sudan and hearing stories of war crimes and politics cultivated her passion for public service in the field of international development. Hassan has a brief demonstrated history of doing public health related research in Latin America. She also has strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and extensive international experience, especially in developing countries. She is currently pursuing BAs in Data Science and Economics from The College of William & Mary. Mayada will be working with Pamela Jakiela on gender issues and impact evaluation.

Meher Kaur

Meher Kaur is a rising junior at the University of Richmond, double majoring in Economics and International Studies: Development and Change. Previously, she has interned at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City as well as with the development NGO Gram Vikas in India. These experiences strengthened her passion for global development through an economic lens. Meher will be working with Sanjeev Gupta on sustainable development finance.
