On July 13, 2007, the MCC signed a five-year, $507 million compact with Mozambique.  The compact will fund water and sanitation, road rehabilitation, land tenure services, and farmer income support.

MCA Status

Mozambique's compact entered-into-force on September 22, 2008.  The compact aims to increase the productive capacity of the population in the Northern districts, with the intended impact of reducing the poverty rate, increasing household income and reducing chronic malnutrition in the targeted districts. The four projects are designed to foster investment and increase economic opportunities for Mozambicans.
