Economics of Developing Countries, Yale University (Syllabus)

Analysis of poverty in developing countries. Emphasis on the role of economic theory in understanding market failures, and on evaluation of public, social and business policies intended to solve market failures. Topics include microfinance (including credit, savings and insurance), education, health, agriculture, intrahousehold allocations, gender, and corruption. A heavy emphasis on experimental methods of program evaluation and measurement.
