Amina Mendez Acosta was a research assistant for education, gender, and health supporting senior fellows David Evans and Pamela Jakiela. Before joining CGD, she worked as a consultant for IFC’s Financial Institutions Group, as a research consultant for Precision Agriculture for Development, and as a program manager for ASKI, a microfinance organization based in the Philippines. Her research interests include women economic empowerment, financial inclusion, agricultural value chains, ICT for development, and social entrepreneurship. She has supported research work in India, West Africa and the Philippines. Acosta earned an MA in Global Human Development from Georgetown University and a BA in Mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan University. She is originally from Nueva Ecija, Philippines.
