Maria Cecilia Ramirez was the Program Coordinator for the Latin America Initiative and supported the research of senior fellow Charles Kenny on corruption and health issues. She is an economist, with a Master of Economics from Paris School of Economics, and a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University. Prior to pursuing graduate studies, she worked doing economic research in the Venezuelan public and private sectors, the Latin American Development Bank (CAF), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
