Priorities 2024 Conference: Building Institutions for Priority Setting in Health

Please note, registration for this event has now closed.

Health systems in low- and middle-income countries are grappling with budget constraints following the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, how can public money for health be spent more efficiently, effectively, and sustainably?

Join the Center for Global Development for an interactive workshop at the Priorities 2024 Conference, to explore the role of evidence-informed priority-setting (EIPS) in health decision-making.

The session marks the launch of a special issue of Health Systems & Reform, "Building Institutions for Priority Setting in Health,” which looks at the use of EIPS in building effective health systems across Latin America, Asia, and Africa, including countries part of the international Decision Support Initiative (iDSI).

In this workshop, participants will explore the multifaceted dimensions of EIPS, including political, institutional, and organisational aspects. The session will feature panellists who have co-authored articles in the Health Systems & Reform special issue. The session will be followed by small breakout group discussions to give participants the opportunity to analyse reform strategies in various countries based on the panel's insights.
