Abiola Awofeso is a second year Doctoral student of Public Health at Morgan State University. She holds a master’s degree in Public Health and a doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine. Her research interests are in global health, infectious disease epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, and maternal and child health. Her main research goal is to serve minority and underserved populations in the United States and globally by identifying and addressing various health disparities that threaten these communities. She is also concerned with building the bridge between research and practice in order to improve quality of healthcare. Some of her research includes assessing the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of senior citizens towards the flu and COVID-19 vaccine and COVID-19 health disparities among minority populations.
