Countries are Becoming Richer: Proportion of Countries in Each World Bank Income Group

Note that this transformation is much more dramatic when considering the number of people in each country. The graduation of a few populous countries like Nigeria, India and China has enormously reduced the proportion of the world’s population that lives in low-income countries
