Jayati Nigam is a policy fellow at the Center for Global Development, on secondment from the Asian Development Bank. Jayati has more than 13 years of experience working across a broad range of health systems strengthening programs in Asia and the Pacific. At the Asian Development Bank, Jayati was involved in lending operations in the Peoples Republic of China, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Pakistan, working on topics ranging from long-term care, strategic purchasing and health insurance reforms, health systems strengthening, regulation of pharmaceuticals, and human resources for health. Prior to joining ADB, Jayati worked with the World Bank in India on health service utilization and access surveys across a number of states in India, and urban health systems research and analysis. Jayati holds a Masters in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelors in Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University.
