Lee Robinson is a research associate at the Center for Global Development’s Europe office, working with Owen Barder on a research project investigating the quality and allocation decisions of UK R&D spending and with Ian Mitchell and Caitlin McKee on the Commitment to Development Index. Before joining CGD, Robinson spent several years in Tanzania working on extractive industries, productive sectors, and industrial transformation, and driving governance and policy reform through advocacy and economic model building. His previous roles were as an ODI fellow in the Tanzanian President’s Office, Planning Commission, as the Tanzania Officer for the Natural Resource Governance Institute, and as a freelance economic consultant in Tanzania and Milan.
Robinson holds an MSc in Development Economics from SOAS and a BSc in Management and International Business Economics from the University of Manchester.
