Lee Robinson was a Research Associate at the Center for Global Development’s Europe office, working on various strands of the Climate Programme and with Ian Mitchell on the Commitment to Development Index. He has previously worked with Owen Barder and Charles Kenny on measuring the contribution of technology to development and poverty reduction. Lee’s focus is on development policy and climate, where he specialises in data driven analysis.
Before joining CGD, Robinson spent several years in Tanzania working on extractive industries, productive sectors, and industrial transformation, and driving governance and policy reform through advocacy based on forecast modelling. His previous roles were as an ODI fellow in the Tanzanian President’s Office, Planning Commission, as the Tanzania Officer for the Natural Resource Governance Institute, and as a freelance economic consultant in Tanzania and Milan.
Lee holds an MSc in Development Economics from SOAS and a BSc in Management and International Business Economics from the University of Manchester.
