For centuries Europe and Africa have been closely connected by history, languages and culture and benefited from geographical proximity. Moving forward, in an increasingly globalised and fast-evolving world the future of the two continents will be even more closely intertwined. To solidify this relation, CGD is launching its EU-Africa Roadmap to the new European Commission, on September 4 alongside Bruegel’s annual meetings. We offer four key proposals that are based on partnership of equals to further reinforce links between the two continents and go beyond development to tackle issues of common interest. Our distinguished panel will discuss how policy proposals on trade, migration, global health and finance can be taken forward under such a partnership.

We hope you will be able to join us. To indicate your interest in attending or in case of questions, please contact Hanna Petros ([email protected]) or Anita Käppeli ([email protected]).
