Amber Peterman is a multi-country impact evaluation specialist at UNICEF's Evaluation Office, based in Nairobi. She leads UNICEF's impact evaluation work on gender, violence, harmful practices and adolescent wellbeing. She is also affiliated with the Transfer Project and the Cash Transfer and Intimate Partner Violence Research Collaborative. Amber previously worked as a research associate professor in the department of public policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as a social policy specialist at UNICEF Office of Research—Innocenti and as a research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington DC., Kampala, and Dakar. She believes in simple analysis to shine a light on complex problems, and aims to continually reevaluate how to use evidence for social progress.
